South West Advocacy Network (SWAN) have been commissioned by the Isle of Wight Council to deliver the Independent Health Complaints Advocacy (IHCA) service for the residents of the Isle of Wight from 1 April 2022. IHCA is a free, independent and confidential service to support people who want to complain about their NHS care or treatment. This includes treatment in a private hospital or care home that is funded by the NHS.
Do you find it hard to speak up for yourself and want to be confident when communicating your wishes? SWAN is also offering free self-advocacy training on a monthly basis for anyone who is interested in attending. The sessions last for 3 hours and are held at the Riverside Centre in Newport or virtually. Spaces are limited so please book early to avoid disappointment.
